Shan Jericho

My character for our Exalted game (white wolf system), Shan Jericho, a gunslinger of the ancient chinese fantasy sort. They're called Firewands in the Exalted setting. :3
She's a former dynast from a lesser noble house, one that specializes in the fighting styles of firewands, and has trained most of her life toward the perfection of the style, amidst other rigorous education reserved for offspring of ambitious houses. Having not been chosen by the Five Terrestrial Dragons (elemental chinese style) for superhuman exaltation, she returned to her house to serve in her own capacity.
With the return of the powerful Solar Exalted "abominations" who ruled the last age in a grip of superhuman tyrranny and hedonistic luxury, the Terrestrial Exalted ("Dragonblooded") have been systematically hunting them down for the last generations, hoping to wipe them out before they rise and conquer again. For the good of all people of the realm, and suchforth. With the disappearance of their beloved Scarlet Empress, however, a lot of political struggle has formed, and the houses have been less eager to put their powers toward the Hunts and have been trying to secure their own positions.
When the call for another small Hunt came knocking at the door of House Jericho, Shan was put to the task to fill out their squad. She vowed to bring honor to her family and country, etc etc, and went off on tour of "Abomination" hunting and quelling other bandit uprisings and things. Her belief in the just ways of the empire were starting to get a little rocky after several months of being out in the threshhold lands and seeing how they lived and how they were treated, but things hit the fan when she tried to interfere with the "resolving" of an "Abomination", a young girl from a village they'd been through. Her squad ended up turning on her for insubordination, and then treason, as she tried reasoning with them and then riding out between them and their target.
She really ought to have been a smoking pile of bits a moment or so after, but that would be that. Instead, she was knocked off her horse in a column of flame as the Unconquered Sun chose her for Exaltation. When the smoke cleared, she was up and raining destruction back on them, forcing them to retreat enough for her to escape. She lay low after that, making her way cautiously toward the easiest place to lose oneself in the Realm; the chaotic merchant city of... Lookshy or Nexus, whichever it is now that i've quite forgotten!
And of course, the best way to lay low in a big city is to get involved in a bar fight, kill some important-looking dragonblooded soldiers, and get the tavern burned down while escaping with fugitives.

It's a fun game, full of mysterious emmisaries, pirate-tomb looting, telekinetic surfing on bladed weapons over pits of snakes, items of power, zombies, and giant yaks. And we've only just begun...... O_o
